Values

A comprehensive RSHCE curriculum goes further than a mere statutory requirement, and instead must be a driving force behind closing the gaps of disadvantage that our students face. This is arguably all the more vital for our students, particularly considering the enduring legacy of the pandemic and a rapidly changing political, economic and social landscape. Research emphasises that RSHCE lessons are one of the most successful opportunities to build students’ emotional resilience and fortitude against these challenges, as well as the aspiration to move positively into a brighter future. Our Values curriculum, therefore, lays the foundations on which our students can build these fundamental skills, and has an active role to play, not only in developing our students’ understanding and knowledge of vital topics, but also developing their character as people too.
