Teacher Training
At Resilience Multi Academy Trust we believe in growing our own talented teaching leaders of the future and investing in our staff through quality accredited programmes.
All our academies are guided by the Resilience ethos – a traditional approach to behaviour management, innovative curriculum design and excellence in teaching that delivers the best possible outcomes. We are committed to doing things differently – creating schools that students want to attend and where teachers want to work. We believe in developing our own teachers and currently employ a substantial number of teachers who trained in one of our academies.
We pride ourselves in having both robust systems and experienced staff in place to support trainee teachers in our academies. All trainees are provided with a mentor, a well-established subject specialist, who meets with the trainee formally at least once a week and is the host teacher in several of the trainee’s classes. In addition, trainees are also assigned to the form group of an experienced tutor, whenever possible this teacher is also an experienced ITT mentor. Each school within the Resilience Multi Academy Trust has a designated ITT coordinator who works with the subject mentors and link tutors to monitor the progress of each trainee. The Trust’s ITT Lead has an overview of the trainees in each school and liaises with the providers.
If you are interested in training to teach with us you can do this through several avenues, we work closely with a number of ITT providers in the region and in partnership with both Exchange Teacher Training and Gorse SCITT.
What kind of organisation is Exchange Teacher Training?
Exchange Teacher Training is founded upon a well-established partnership of credible organisations, with Regional cohorts in Yorkshire and the Humber, East Riding, and the North East. Together, we are committed to the importance of 'exchange'; sharing our knowledge, skills and expertise generously for the benefit of young people in our communities. We strive to drive achievement, address disadvantage and raise the aspirations of the children we serve.
Exchange Teacher Training school-based training is rooted in local, credible schools. Trainees are immersed in classroom practice from the very start but are never alone. Mentors support trainees' learning journey along with a lead mentor, subject or phase lead, and a dedicated regional team, all devoted to ensuring that everyone thrives on our programme. Our model is simple: at weekly centre-based training, trainees will engage with robust educational research brought to life by local experts, before implementing what they have learned in placement schools.
Preparing our trainees for successful careers in teaching is at the heart of what we do. In choosing us, trainees will join a powerful community of practice, building professional friendships that will last a lifetime. Apologies, here is the information you need.
