Bus Routes

Service:148 Wakefield to Knottingley

We would like to clarify the current situation regarding the school bus services. We were made aware by several parents that the 546 service that has run for many years was being withdrawn. We were not formally advised of this by the bus company nor by Metro who organise school transport across West Yorkshire.

Following lengthy enquiries, we have can now confirm that the 546 service has been withdrawn both on a morning and an afternoon. Metro have advised us that Ross Travel have altered their timings for their morning 144 public service to incorporate the old 546 service. This bus does not come onto the school grounds and maintains its route along the public road.

We now have a separate afternoon school bus service – 582 – which comes onto the grounds and into the turning circle. This service is run by CT Plus. This service does not serve the academy on a morning.

Please see below the timings we have been given and the route that each service takes – be aware that the 582 does not serve Castleford Bus Station but serves Whitwood, Altofts and Normanton

We hope this clarifies any confusion caused.
