Year 8

Year 8 students will a contemporary, fluid curriculum that will explore what connects us to the rest of the world. It will empower our students to engage with complex global issues and explore the links between their own lives and people, places and issues throughout the world. Our aim is to give students the space to imagine different futures and the role they can play in creating a fair and sustainable world.

RE will work with other Humanities subjects to explore exciting concepts such as Peace and Conflict, Diversity, Human Rights, Interdependence, Social Justice, Environmental Issues and Sustainable Development.

Year 9

Pre-Option students will gain vital exam skills including exam technique and SPaG.

They will study core Christianity and core Judaism looking at basic beliefs in preparation for the GCSE proper.

KS4 GCSE

Students will follow Eduqas Route A/ Christianity and Judaism over 2 years.

Year 10

Component 1: Religious, Philosophical and Ethical Studies in the Modern World.

Themes: Issues of Relationships/ Issues of Life and Death/ Issues of Good and Evil/ Issues of Human Rights.

Written examination: 2 hours / 50% of qualification

Component 2: Study of Christianity

Beliefs, teachings and practices.

Written examination: 1 hour/ 25% of qualification

Year 11

Component 3: Study of a World Faith

Option 4: Judaism

Beliefs, teachings and practices.

Revision.

Written examination: 1 hour/ 25% of qualification
